Memeology

Over the last decade of making creative content for the internet and working in the world of social media, I created many successful viral posts and sharable content that’s spread the desired marketing message and improved brand awareness. Often times, my success far outlives my efforts on the project or the company’s intended reach, as a good meme gets reposted every 3 to 6 months.

This one is reposted nearly every 3 to 6 months across platforms by fans.

“But What Does A Memeologist Do Exactly?”

Being a memeologist requires a lot more attention to detail and hard work than many might expect. The most important part of the job is that you need to understand the zeitgeist of the community you are marketing towards, and to do that you need to be an active and authentic part of that community.

You also have to be on the constant watch for new memes that have yet to reach your community, so you can be the first to jump on a trend. This takes hours a day of monitoring, reading, posting, commenting and developing a taste for what content works.

Community Reception

It’s not easy to track the full impact of my memes, however I can tell you I earned over 670,000 upvotes from my time on reddit. I have also received many positive comments and praise from fans, colleagues, partners and competitors alike, these are just a few of my favorites from reddit to give you an idea of community sentiment from my work:

Let’s see the memes!

Below you can explore some of the many memes I’ve created, metrics for this kind of work is impossible to gather accurately due to the nature of reddit and cross platform posting, but I have included the number of upvotes and comments in the screenshots to give you an idea of the success they earned. Nearly all of these reached the front page of reddit at one time or another, and earned me the title “King of Memes” in the PCMR subreddit, a community of over 6.5 million PC gamers and enthusiasts.
